This is a portrait of my grandfather. He is a very important person in my life. He is 96 years old and counting the blessings and the days of still playing his beloved guitar. I wanted to show him with his guitar, as music is his life. Music helped him overcome many difficult moments, including losing his wife to cancer when she was 57 years old. They had ten children together, including my mother. This portrait is part of a series called Toda Una Vida, meaning “a whole life”, through which I am commemorating life itself with portraits of those dearest and closest to me.
