How are celebrations for the children remembered by the mothers? And the children? Are they different from one another? Do the children see the tiredness? Do they see the over stretching of the mothers trying to fulfill impossible standards set by society?
We are modern women, we have it all, it is what we are repeatedly told. We have it all?
I believe we have nothing! This is more accurate for too many of us, most of us are walking around day in and day out starving for some time to be able to meet our most basic needs. Our children at times are thriving while we ourselves are drowning in motherhood. Looking back it all seems a blur, how did we survive those first years with babies and no village around us?
A village that was supposed to hold at least our babies and on better of times also us mothers?
